There’s a best-of-both-worlds vibe to 30084 (more commonly known as Tucker). To be sure, our area of expertise tends to deal more commonly with life close to the center of Atlanta, but this charming city deserves a mention.
Tucker is located just outside the I-285 Perimeter. While there is no shortage of enclaves inside the city that offer a small-town feel (while still being deceptively close to the city itself), in Tucker, it’s the real deal. There’s a main stretch—Lawrenceville Highway has some old-South eateries and shops that give a pretty rural vibe—surrounded by a number of tiny side streets that offer a range, from a quarter-acre and a fence to golf course living.
Compared to many of the neighborhoods we’ve talked about, Tucker might seem like it’s on the outskirts. But therein lies the charm: for some, working in the city is great, but living in the countryside is where the balance is struck.
